Useful information on drainage

As a specialist drainage contractor based in the West Midlands, we provide some of the following services:

Surface Water Drainage

Surface water drainage is the rain or melted snow that falls from hard surfaces, such as the roof of a property or a driveway, and then drains away into a highway drain or road gulley and then into our sewers. Alternatively, the water can drain away into a soakaway or something similar.

At Cotterill Contractors, we are surface water drainage specialists and can design and install a system to suit your project’s specific requirements and budget.

Foul Drainage

Foul drainage typically carries the used water and solid waste from toilets, sinks, basins, baths, showers, bidets, dishwashers and washing machines to appropriate outfall. The underground pipework is referred to as foul drains and foul sewers (a drain typically serves a single property whilst a sewer serves several properties).

At Cotterill Contractors, we are foul drainage specialists and can design and install a system to suit your project’s specific requirements and budget.

Deep Drainage

Deep Drainage is the pipework that is used to capture and convey groundwater at much deeper depths. This includes deep drainage culverts, carriageway drainage, sewer connections including connection in the highway, box culverts and foul sewer diversions as well as surface and foul water drainage systems.

At Cotterill Contractors, we are deep drainage specialists and are experienced in all types of drainage works. We are used to working in challenging restrictions such as bad ground conditions, well-point dewatering, deep excavations around live services etc. We can design and install a deep drainage system to suit your needs and requirements.

Utility Connections

Utility connections are those points at which incoming utilities are connected to allow them to serve a user, such as a house, flat, commercial premises or other property. This includes water, gas, electricity, sewerage and telecommunications.

At Cotterill Contractors, we are experts in utility connections and are experienced in these installations. We can design and install a multi-utility installation project for both domestic and commercial developments.

Land Drainage

Land drainage is the pipework that is used in agricultural, industrial, commercial and domestic areas to prevent the land from becoming waterlogged. By using pipes to remove water and direct it elsewhere, you can prevent flooding, water standing still and poorly irrigated fields.

At Cotterill Contractors, we are land drainage specialists and can design and install a land drainage scheme to suit your needs and requirements. We use the latest state of the art equipment to map and install the pipework.
