New building developments required to install electric vehicle points

In a bid to accelerate the move to electric vehicles, the Government has just announced that new homes and buildings in England will be required by law to install electric vehicle charging points from next year. This is an important legislation change and as specialists in the groundworks for EV charging points, it's an area where we can help.

What does the new legislation mean? Up to 145,000 charging points will be installed across the country each year according to the Government. Developments that will be impacted will include new-build supermarkets and office blocks. Buildings undergoing major renovations will also come under the new law.

This legislation will have a big impact on building developers. From 2022 onwards they will now need to ensure electric charging points are included in their plans. And to deliver projects on time and to cost, they will need to ensure they are using reliable and trusted installers of EV charging points.

This is where we can help. Trading for almost 30 years, we are professional groundworks contractors that specialise in the installation of EV charging points. To find out more, please contact us on contractors@cotterillcivils.co.uk or 0121 461 5311.
